Lincoln Financial Network Enhances Investment Capabilities With Senior Hire From Merrill

Lincoln Financial Network, the retail wealth management
affiliate of Lincoln Financial Group, has appointed Gene Mulligan - latterly of Merrill Lynch - as senior vice
president for investment products and platform. Mulligan will lead LFN’s wealth management platform,
including its managed account strategy, products and operations. He will report
to LFN president, David Berkowtiz, and will serve on the LFN Executive
Committee. Mulligan is formerly of Merrill Lynch Global Investment
Solutions, where he was a managing director as well as head of business strategy and
development for the Merrill Lynch global investment and advisory platforms. He
joined Merrill Lynch in 1986 as a commodities trader. The move comes after Bill Fortner was appointed in June
as managing director of Lincoln Financial Advisors to lead the Pacific regional
planning group. Philadelphia, PA-headquartered Lincoln Financial Group and
its affiliates had assets under management of $189 billion as of June 30, 2013.
